More on Sydney after DARK :D

Hello!

So I did some more field work in the area of Sydney after Dark! Here's more to add to the list:

The Club- 33 Baywater Street
So far the best club in King's Cross. Drinks are expensive, around $15 for a gin & tonic, but the music is great. Old school R&B mixed with Hip-Hop and heavey base. For the ladies, they have a pole dancing stage for when dancing normally just don't cut it.
$5 coat check, cute boouncers, nice cushioned chairs.

The World Bar- Across from The Club
Actually came here when The Club was closed on a Wednesday night. It's rowdy, like a big frat party. Sticky floors and dub-step. Drinks are fun: they're shots and mixers poured into teapots. Bathrooms not so clean. Crowd is trashy, loud, young. It's really popular with young Americans.
I would come back for the teapots, they were cute and delicious. I'm not coming back for the people, that's for sure.

The Argyle-the Rocks
It's pretty big, 2 stories, indoor and outdoor patio. Crowd is mixed. You see tourists, young couples and older dudes. Have yet to try their food, but the menu (they serve Tapas) looks absolutely amazing. Music is pretty good, I think it depends on the night. Will definitly come back.

Sydney-First Days

Sitting in front of the Museum of Sydney, having a glass of wine from Nelson, New Zealand, and reading the new Tina Fey book (HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!).

At the Harbor (the Opera house is just to my left)

The Market!!

Cupcakes (the icing tastes different from the ones in LA)

It's so TINY

A whole lot of meatballs (I feel like this picture is my current photography skills showcased at its best! They look so delicious!)

Me and Food

Hello!

Sorry about the slow updating...I can online update as fast as the internet speed in Australia, which is SLOOOOOOW!
I keep forgetting to take my Nikon out with me, I guess I'm just not used to carrying such a big camera, but I'm working on it :).
These photos were taken in one of the first few days after arriving in Sydney, when I went to my internship location and but was told that my interview was rescheduled....so I walked around the harbor and the opera house for the rest of the day!
I was really excited to find out that I worked so close to the Opera house! The area I work at is called The Rocks, it is where the city of Sydney all started. I work off Argyle street, also home to a great Tapas place/Club called The Argyle. Every venue that serves alcohol in Australia are also required by the law to serve food, so every club/pub is also an restaurant.
Every weekend at The Rocks, there's a market that goes on Friday-Sunday. Fridays are mainly food and crafts and the rest are mainly clothes. I can never resist the juice stand there called Dare Juice, I must have got 5 juices from there in the 3 times I walked pass it!

The dress I wore in these pictures is an Elle Tahari dress I got from Ruelala.com for around $50. Great great bargain! I recommend Ruelala for more career oriented women, they have great business clothes for their sales and some great computer and traveling gadgets as well!

That's it for today, I have a couple more outfit posts in the process. Still working on my camera skills of course, gosh it's so hard to capture the moment!

Bye for now :)

Love,

Kiko

The cloud looks painted on

Quick post.
Took this photos on the balcony of my apartment. The cloud behind me looked so amazing that I felt like I was ruining the picture, so I put up a picture of just the clouds :)

Doesn't the red bow tie look amazing? It's painted outside a hairdresser near where I live! Sorry I looked so small in the picture, I wanted you to see the entire building!

Outfit: The White jumper was purchased from Nastygal.com, the label is PIKO. The dress was purchased from modcloth.com, the label is Collective Concepts (which is based in LA I believe). The tights are American Apparel and the boots are Jeffrey Campbell. I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey Campbell but most of his designs are very high heeled shoes, so when I found this pair of flat boots, I just had to have them. They go great with any winter outfit, military when you want them to be, chic all the time :)

Kiko

Sydney Update and New Kate Spade BAGGGGG

Hello!

So I'm just finishing up my third week here in Sydney and it has been absolutely amazing! Aside from the fact that Johnson is still back in LA :(

If you're ever in Sydney, here are some places you should check out
- the Establishment (great classic interior, great music)
- the Ivy (only go on weekends please, during the week this place is full of suits)
- Soho (Top 40 music, Thursday nights are lady's nights, free champagne till 11pm)
- Scary Canary (free drinks for 2 hours if you dress up as the opposite sex?? Pub scene, drinks come in buckets and tastes like Vodka + Red Bull)

aaaand that's what I got so far. I have left out quite a few places that I didn't really like or didn't make great cocktails

I will keep updating this list!

Today is the first Sunny day in the pass two weeks. It's winter in Sydney and there has been a lot of windy and rainy days, which I really hate. I had brought my yellow Hunter rain boots all the way from LA but have yet to wear them out because they are just so heavy. May the next rainy I will, and take some pictures to put up here :)

So I'm partly posting a new entry because I opened my email today and saw THIS amazing new bag from Kate Spade!!!

I don't buy a lot of designers because I'm not from a really wealthy background. There has only been one thing that I have craved to own: the Mulberry Oversized Alexia bag! (please go google this bag and you'll know why I'm so madly in love with it). That bag aside, my all time favorite designer is Kate Spade. I own a pair of Kate Spade shoes, a Kate Spade handbag, a Kate Spade purse and a Kate Spade dress. That's the most number of items I probably own from one single designer. I love the vibrant colors, the retro cut and the unique designs, like this new Bixby Clutch. It's very European: the smooth leather, the gathered bottom and the idea of a clutch. It's also very Eastern-inspired: the design of a angular wood frame with the round bauble closure. This clutch also comes with three colors, the Aqua shown here, the Black and the Cream. Every thing Kate Spade are designed with both fashion and wearability in mind. I would love to have more items from Kate Spade!!

That's all I have for now! I did do quite a few more outfit shoots and they should be ready for you soon!

Love,

Kiko
